Good preparation will ensure a great
holiday!
Haven't yet decided where to stay? For a quick introduction to the
varied regions that make up France, take a look at our Regional
Mini-Guides. Then, when you have decided to which part of France you are heading, use the
regional map to simply browse through all available holiday properties in that region, or try the
search form where you can narrow your search by selecting the region, choosing between different
accommodation types - ie bed and breakfast, self catering,
farmhouses, gites villas, cottages, apartments etc, and if you want to narrow your
search further there is an advanced property search option as well as a clever "specified date
period" search option which will find you all the properties that are available within your time
frame and at your budget.
When you find some potential properties which match with your
holiday plans, click the "To book or enquire" link - some properties may have a detailed booking
calendar with which you can select your chosen holiday dates and request a booking, and others
provide a booking enquiry form for you to complete and send to the French holiday property
owner.
When making a holiday booking please remember to check the price
with the holiday property owner as currency fluctuations may affect the price shown. You should
also make sure that you understand what is included in your French holiday
property price, (for example, in the case of a self catering
in France holiday property, are linens, towels, electricity and heating included? In the case of
bed & breakfast, are evening meals an option and is the breakfast included or charged as an
extra.
Finally, before setting off to your French holiday property, make
certain that you know what documents are required for driving in, or travelling to, France. Ensure
also that you have valid medical, travel and cancellation insurance if required, and of course,
check, in good time, that you have an up to date passport!
