Alsace

Situated in eastern France and bordering Germany. The eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains. Although there is some heavy industry in this region, the countryside and villages are very beautiful. The region also has some renowned wines and a delicious traditional cuisine. There is a strong local dialect which is still spoken, which is a mixture of French and German. The regions capital town is Strasbourg. The Departments of Alsace are: Bas Rhin and Haut Rhin
